Hard credit search

My plan was to carry on saving for the next few months until I had the deposit for a mortgage. So I decided to apply for a credit card and only use for emergencies, I was accepted by Barclays with a limit of £4000 which increases my credit limit but I'm not using any of my credit so I'm hoping this will show I don't rely on credit. The problem is, I've come into some money which has given me my deposit for a house but because I've recently had 1 hard search already around 3 weeks ago, this will stop me getting a mortgage as I'll be refused. It's the first hard search in 2 years as well. Should I be worried?
Ps my credit payment history is perfect

Cheers

@cmbrookes Nothing to worry about at all. One recent hard-footprint on your report should have no material impact on your mortgage application.

Hi if you look at lender criteria it will tell you what they accept , most will be fine but avoid NatWest and RBS as a dip won’t go through with any hard searches in last 6 months
For the benefit of others who come across this thread - the part in bold above is not a rule for NatWest or any lender for that matter. I've never had a case where I wasn't able to place a client purely because of a recent hard check.

The few scenarios in which a very recent hard check could potentially have an impact is 95% LTV max borrowing, where the applicant already has an adverse credit history, etc.
