Washing powder boxes - are they less plastic than plastic detergent?

I’m trying to use less plastic. If I swapped to persil powder v liquid I wanted to understand if the boxes are less plastic, which I think they are but I didn’t know if they can recycled well?

We use Method. PET1 plastic is highly recyclable. (Bottle + lid). The detergent is biodegradable too.

I get that the carboard powder box is on the whole less, but I wondered if it was lined and therefore if it’s worse for the environment etc if cannot be as easily recycled

I have never yet seen a box of washing powder that was lined with plastic.  They are normally just corrugated cardboard.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
