Morals and ethics from Supermarkets

Hi chaps, whilst I appreciate that this site is about saving money I read that the boss of Sainsburys is giving himself a big pay rise whilst paying his staff as little as possible. Makes me want to not by from his store and made me wonder, is there a table of good shops that respects workers rights, animal welfare, buying British etc etc. ? I’d spend a little more if the ethics appealed !

You could always buy some shares and vote for resolution 21 at the AGM next month

Co-op and JL theoretically.
Any company that operates with profit in mind is only ever going to play at CSR.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.3 -

Tesco, Sainsbury, Lidl, Morries, Aldi all did the right thing. Both Co op and Waitrose (JL) are good at the virtue signalling but the reality does not match the hype.1 -
Waitrose & Partners is a co-operative. It has won several awards from Compassion in World Farming and donated £30 million to charity via Waitrose Duchy Organic.1

Yes Rosa “ Any company that operates with profit in mind is only ever going to play at CSR”. You’re correct arnoldy, it’s a minefield, they all employ PR men to hide the truth. Waitrose and co-op seem ok, m&s gets some praise in some areas too.
