Notification of changes - actuarial reductions

I have two recent emails from the administrators confirming that it is, but not mentioning that it was discretionary. I also have a whole file of previous comms, including the scheme booklet, again with no mention of it being discretionary. I don't doubt that the rules allow the factors to be changed, but I've never seen a copy and they're not even available on the company's pensions website.
The Rules trump the Guide.
It seems to me essential that you or your adviser obtain a copy of the relevant sections.

I'm sure you're right.
I've asked for a copy of the rules but I doubt the Trustees will have done anything that wasn't allowed.
I'm beginning to realise that this is a battle I'm unlikely to win (although I'll have good go). It's just hard to take when you think you've planned for every eventuality, taken financial advice and asked all the questions you need to, then six months before retirement the game changes because of something written in a rule book that is only available on request.
