Opinions on prices, what's being supplied/fitted and the spec, Central Scotland. Any recommended upgrades?

The solar quote seems to be a little high with £1.25/Wh being competitive.
The Zyphen kit looks top end but has a price to match. A 4.8kWh Pylontech system costs around £560/kWh, a 13.5kWh Tesla Powerwall is £695/kWh, the Zyphen Cube is costing you £1204/kWh.
If I were you, I be looking to trim £1000 off the solar quote & spend another £3490 on a Powerwall.
No idea whether the heat pump is good value or not.4kWp (black/black) - Sofar Inverter - SSE(141°) - 30° pitch - North LincsInstalled June 2013 - PVGIS = 3400Sofar ME3000SP Inverter & 5 x Pylontech US2000B Plus & 3 x US2000C Batteries - 19.2kWh1 -
interestingly Zyphen say the battery will last 20-30 years? No idea if this is backed up by any sort or guarantee though.
These days you can only gauge the solar quotes by getting others as I’m not sure if anyone knows the going rate.
with ASHP design of the system is very important so I recommend you educate yourself and try to work out if the company knows what they are talking about.8kw system spread over 6 roofs , surrounded by trees and in a valley.1 -
I've not looked at these batteries before, but I'm assuming that timescale is based on 1 cycle per day, which would be equivalent to approx 10,000 cycles (similar to other brands such as Givenergy?).arty688 said:interestingly Zyphen say the battery will last 20-30 years? 7 x 390W West wall mounted at 90 degrees inclination.

4 x 9.5 kWh batteries (38 kWh total)1 -
Thanks for the replies.
I've friends that have used the company before for the ASHP and were very happy with the installs and how the system is working for them.
I've contacted another company for a solar quote, and I'll probably arrange a third.
I'd like a bigger capacity battery, just incase (might add a turbine or charge using a cheap overnight rate if they ever return), but not spoke to the quoting company yet about other battery options.0 -
I agree with everyone saying that for that sort of money you should be getting a much bigger battery. Here's a 9.6kWh system for £5k:Fitting shouldn't add a lot to that, it's about half a day's work for a sparky.N. Not sure i would want a jack of all trades doing the heat pump, and a local heat pump company is more likely to be around for 15 years to to do the service and fix any faults. And is that price before or after any grants you get in Scotland?1
-
Pretty sure the companies been doing the heat pumps a while and the solar/battery is a newer thing for them. As mentioned, I know 2 people that have used them, the only 2 people I know that have installed ASHPs and they both recommend the company.
Price is before grants, £7500 back on the heating.0 -

You should be able to get a better deal than that.
Heat pumps, do 6ou still get the government grant of £5k? I've never really looked at those.4.3kwp JA panels, Huawei 3.68kw Hybrid inverter, Huawei 10kw Lunar 2000 battery, Myenergi eddi, South facing array with a 15 degree roof pitch, winter shade.0 -
Just a wee update on the original post. ASHP went in Tue/Wed, learning curve now to get it running best way for us. Looking to get at least 1 of the showers in the house over to a mixer as well.
Solar is now 11 x 400w Sharp panels costing £5k and just short of £5k for a Fox-ESS 5.8 kw battery (2 x 2.9kw). Hope to get that fitted end of October.
