CCJ that we had no idea about

Hi all,
My wife this morning has logged onto her credit report and she discovered a CCJ to a very old address - we haven't lived there for over 10 years- which was registered 6 months ago
I was just wondering what the process is with regards to this
Do I contact the courts to find out what it relates to or is there another way of doing this?

Court should be able to tell you who the creditor was, or you can search the judgement register online, that will cost you about £6 if I remember rightly.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Email the court, quote the details on the report (reference, date of judgement) and ask for the particulars of claim.
It sounds like you may have had a statute barred defence so may wish to consider applying for setaside but see what it is and take it from there.1 -
