Changing health boards and consultant?

Any idea if it is possible to change health boards and my current consultant (NHS)? I have been having problems with both the health board and the consultant for over a year. The health board that I am currently under is not in my local area, my local health board contracts health care out to other health boards.
 Anyone changed health boards? If so what is involved?

Then you are particularly hard done by in health terms. Devolved healthcare doesn't offer a consumer market if you happen to live in a country where a transport macro-infrastructure is lacking. If its hard to travel across the country offering choice merely magnifies inequalities.

I think your first point of contact has got to be asking your local health board about the process. If you speak to someone with a bit of nouse they may even take an interest in why current provision does not suit you and do something about it.
