Sorry I have enough in my bank to cover my minimum payments to the two cards and then enough to make my lump sum payment to MBNA.  I realise I made it sound like I didn’t have enough to cover those payments!

I still have thimfs to sell, but that will be next month as right now, I have sellers fatigue after selling so much….I wish I had have had buyers fatigue previously!!

What is great is that I’m 2 weeks away from payday and I still have money in my account and a plan/oversight to ensure I don’t go into my overdraft!!

You're doing so well, and I think although you miscalculated the paypal, the fact that you've managed to make the payment at all is a good sign. And a Greggs bacon roll is a good way to start your morning  :D. I'm glad that you will still have the funds to meet your payments even with the 'accounting error' and you've done exceptionally well with MBNA. It's so impressive.

  • This is where I rely on my spreadsheet and add every purchase into the ‘due out’ column. It’s the only way I can stay on top of it as some payments don’t get processed immediately.

I check my bank first thing each day, and update my spreadsheet to reflect any changes. It’s become a morning ritual while I have my first brew. :)

  • You've still made fantastic progress! My first month I ended up back in my overdraft briefly after a miscalculation, think it is normal! Now I do the same as LMD with a spreadsheet with all my bills/regular outgoings for each month. I check online banking every morning and I tick each bill off as it comes out and calculate how much is still left to come out over the rest of the month so I know I definitely have enough in there. Once you get into the habit it takes 2 minutes to do and saves the anxious feeling of not being in control of things, which used to be the norm for me!

I will ask for a copy of your ssheet...I think just looking and checking my balance each day is going to help me with avoiding my overdraft and budgeting properly....As I said before, I've never actually checked my balance or even give a second though to overdraft previously.

I literally toyed around with some financial modelling today.... My first expiring 0% ofer is the virgin with 3k on it (I'm pre approved for a 9 month fluid card and 90% approved for HSBC) so shouldn't have a problem transferring that to another card....My big worry is that once I start hitting interest rates...my repayments will cripple me.  I also hope by then I will have received my inheritance that is due but my plan is to keep that set aside and only use it to repay debts that can't be transferred to 0% interest rates and I'm optimistic that with the work I'm doing now means that won't be an issue and I'll have a decent pot of savings behind me once I am debt free.

I was hoping for a NSD day today but realised it's Fathers Day on Sunday so will be going online tonight for that.  I need to buy present from my bank for my dad but luckily the gift for my father from my daughter will come from the joint account!

My 0% have ended and I’m just paying off interest at the moment as all I can afford is the minimum payments. I don’t have any cards I can move between either. I also can’t get another card from anyone. Your doing really well though!

Thanks!! Hopefully that will change for you. I do admit, I’m worried that if I can’t get 0% transfer rates it will put me in a much more difficult position.  But all I can do is keep working away whilst it is 0% in the hope I can get those offers when the time comes.

Another win for me.  I had a complaint today with one Halifax regarding a mistake they made…normally I wouldn’t phone up on these but my outlook has changed now…anyway, I got £40 compensation. It really wasn’t a great issue but the fact I had to phone up twice to do something must make companies panic about complaints.

So £40 has been paid off my Halifax card!

I’m now hoping someone else gives me reason to complain!
  • Haha you'll be turning into a serial complainer! :D
