Debt, emotional and mental wellbeing are intrinsically linked in my experience. This is, and hopefully always will be a safe space for sharing all aspects and getting the support you need.

Hope you feel better soon! Well done for recognising and acting on how you have been feeling. Definitely agree dealing with debt and emotional well-being go hand in hand! Take care of yourselfDebt free November 20221

Yep, debt and mental health/emotional wellbeing are often two sides of the same coin, so don't worry, you're not alone in feeling like this. My diary's called The Mental Debt Struggle for a reason! I'm glad that you got your medication and was proactive with the doctors, and recognised and more importantly, acted on the warning signs.
Well done on refusing the loan, it would not have been worth it to add an extra 25% of your debt as interest, when like you said, it's all more or less interest free anyway at present. Just keep plodding along, and yes £20 to £3k is an exceptional achievement.Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

Thanks all.
So today I had to work despite having it booked off as leave. Colleague had AL booked and the other one in my team who was due to cover the unit tested positive for Covid. I made the choice to work as I had a few things to do and didn’t want them going unattended if nobody was covering.
We then went out for a family meal for my wife’s birthday. Had a lovely feed. I hadn’t ate all day so I went for a starter and a main. I was driving also so just a coke for me! Food was great and it was nice getting out with my wife and daughter!!I also collected my prescription from the pharmacist so day one of my medication begins. I’m dreading the side effects, last time I had bad headaches/sweating and insomnia for best part of a fortnight so I’m expecting the same again.
If it kicks in and makes me feel noticeably calmer though, it will be worth it!!1 -
Glad to hear you had a nice meal out and I hope your wife had a lovely birthday
Good luck with the start of the meds, I know it's not easy but it's a short term pain for the long term gain here as you know from taking them previously.

Thanks all.
so my switch didn’t go through today. I thought I had chosen to do it today but guess not!!
Anyway. I made a payment of £225 to MBNA account with money I had on PayPal from my refund. I decided to make the payment today as I’m not sure if I’ll be able to make any PADs for the next few days when my switch goes through.I’m due to get £130 for another item sale in the next few days and with the hopeful £200 for switching and with what I’m estimating wil be in my account at the end of the month! I am fairly certain that my smallest debt which is around 2135 at time of writing, there is a possibility I could reduce the MBNA to £1500 by the end of the month!3 -
Hi abaka
I love your line - ‘So rushing Into any stupid decisions to preempt a future that might not happen would be extremely foolish’ - because it sums up exactly what I do and I know my mental health makes me make decisions without having all the facts.I remembered the 2 weeks of headaches when starting anti d’s - I chewed on hard sweets to help with the annoying jaw pain and that might help you if it happens. You need to be content with small steps. That’s all life is. Small steps that you take every day so when you look back down the road it all adds up and you know you covered some distance.0 -
Ok - update!
I’m in day 3 of my medication now. I have had headache last 2 days, my jaw is sore, and I’ve had bouts of insomnia. Here’s hoping these all pass soon.
My switch went well so far, my money has transferred over and I added my bank details to work this morning so should be up and running…my first direct debit lifts out on 22nd so I’ll know for sure if it has worked!
And today I got my £200 for switching. It has been sent to my MBNA as an Pad and also got £130 for selling some items waiting to clear in PayPal.
Pretty good day!!2 -
Aside from the side effects from the meds, you have had a good day! I hope the symptoms pass for you soon and you can start to get the benefits of the medication.
