I've been in my current role in the supply chain for coming up to 6 years. I'm ready for a new challenge, preferably in a more senior role.
It is a bit of a boys' club and can see jobs are handed on a plate to the favs.
There's been 5ppl who have handed in their notice in the department since this year.
I have expressed to my Manager since the beginning of the year I want to move on. I don't wish for a side step.
There's a vacancy that has come up, under the sustainability bracket which imo is pretty trendy at the moment. It would mean moving teams and working directly for a Director. The girl is leaving and is 3 days, and I'm on 4 days too. The post is for 5 days.
Wonder if i should keep an open mind and go for it?
I've looked externally and given the pending recession, my company has big potential and good and stable future.

If you do not apply, your not going to get it.

I'm feeling good about it, it sound like a very demanding and challenging job but it's got great exposure to the senior team. I'm not expecting to get it, but the business will know I wish to move on.0
