I am looking to seek advice and re-mortgage through a financial advisor. i have found one and when i search their name on the FCA they come up as Certified / assessed by firm - This individual has been certified and/or assessed by an authorised firm that is regulated for certain activities. This firm accepts responsibility for the certified/assessed individual and the information on this record. The FCA does not directly approve these individuals.
I am asking if this is normal and can they be trusted to act as my advisor. i have never sought help like this before so any advise is greatly appreciated.

If their name is on the FCA register as authorised they will be fine.
Without going into war and peace, you have brokers who are directly authorised by the FCA (we are), you also have firms who fall under a network and the network are authorised by the FCA (we used to be this).
