Tax Code Notice 2022/2023

Would appreciate some advice. On my tax code notice for 2022/2023 its showing my Widowed Parents Allowance (which is a taxable benefit) as £6700. I have a job and a small pension which I am also taxed on. As my daughter is finishing college shortly (shes 18) my WPA payments have now stopped and I am no longer eligible for this benefit. The WPA I have been paid this tax year is approx £850 so will not be £6700 which my tax code notice shows. Will I automatically get a new tax code notice showing the change or do I have to call HMRC and advise them I no longer have this benefit. As it stands am I right to assume I’m being taxed on approx £5900 of income I wont be getting?

I would presume DWP will notify HMRC but if the payments have already stopped I can't see why you shouldn't contact HMRC and explain what's changed and get a new tax code.
You will continue to pay extra tax for the rest of this tax year but it will be based on WPA of £850 instead of £6,700.
There will be a tax adjustment in your favour the first time the new tax code is used and then you will pay less each payday thereafter.
