Zip Link Bed - Alternatives

Hi
We've been away for a few days and slept in a zip and link bed. My partner is a really light (I mean really light) sleeper but slept much better as he wasn't woken up when I turned over/got up to go to the loo, like he would when we are at home.
Our mattress will need replacing in a year or 2 and seriously thinking of getting a z&l mattress. We currently have a king size ottomon bed frame with slats which I'd like to keep if possible as the storage is really useful. Is there a way we could buy maybe 2x small single mattresses - would that work? or buy a ZL mattress as a replacement.
I'm posting in case anyone has done anything similar and can share their plans.

No movement from your partner with memory foam. We bought an Emma a couple of months ago and the only time I know my husband has moved is if he grabs the duvet.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know.
