Default V Closed account

I have an account on my credit file, which defaulted Jan 2016. The account was fully paid in Jan 2022.  I assume that it will remain on my credit file until Jan 2028.

    No. It should  have been removed Jan 2022.

    Did it definitely default? Are you viewing up to date files?

    Defaults are supposed to drop off your file after 6 years regardless of any action you take.

    It should be gone now, and its unusual that it has not done so, are you certain it was a default ?

    It should be gone now, and its unusual that it has not done so, are you certain it was a default ?
    Defaulted on Equifax and TransUnion but never defaulted on experian.  Equifax had it defaulted and then settled the following month.

    Do I correct Experian or leave it as a none default for the next five years?
