Sounds good to me! With all honesty, I got all of mine done at once, just because I didn't want the stress. It's lot of stress and (worse) decisions this home owning lark!3

@killerpeaty - nailed it, I can cope with the facts far easier than the decisions!
@savingholmes - a generic carpet through most of the house, then an LVT for my hard floors in kitchen/diner, bathroom/toilets and hallway. Brand and style to be decided (except a cheap laying pattern!) but I'm tempted to just get good quality one that will stick it out for as long as I'm in the house, especially as it's going to get a lot of light so needs to be UV stable.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Week two off report - curtain poles arrived and all good. Floor guy is booked in to measure up on Tuesday, so will have a quote and not an estimate soon.
Several (hundred) treks around looking at curtains - coming to the conclusion that what I like just isn't in fashion at the minute. Ordered something for click and collect, did not like it when it arrived, so back it went. Have ordered something off ebay that looks like it's end-of-line clearance so we will see.
Otherwise had a decent couple of weeks off. Some weekend trips to see various friends that live a distance away now. A few days of resting.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

I've had similar experiences re curtains. I was spoiled in a previous house as a friend made some for me.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I have had my flat for a few months off 3 years and still haven't managed to put curtains up. I don't know if you have a ponden homes but I liked their curtains, good quality. I bought some, but I've.. put them in a safe place. Lol.
Keep trying for curtains, you'll get there.3 -
The plan with curtains is that a) I only need actual curtains in the street facing downstairs, my bedroom and bathroom, and b) I'm hoping to borrow some old ones off family to just get something over any windows I don't have them for. This includes my sibling's childhood bedroom curtains covered with cartoons
But I've got an idea of what I want for one room, I just can't find it! I have no patience at all.
I will definitely have a look at pondens website though, thanks for that @killerpeatyStart mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Hi,
in the bathroom you might want to consider window film instead of curtains (you can get a lot of different patterns, it’s pretty cheap and gives you privacy). We thought we would buy all new curtains for are new place but in the end, we reused 5pairs (various hand me downs), used window film and only bought 2 pairs (at Dun e1m). Best of luck CM2 -
Thanks @Cornish_mum - I was going to go blinds in bathrooms and kitchen, but will look into window film, I've literally never heard of it but a quick google makes it look interesting.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056
