TOLD TO WAIT UNTIL 5 DAYS TO GO?

Hi All, I hadn't realised that you could get your State Pension paid weekly, once I found you could I rang the gov.com pension line, but was told I should wait until 4-5 days before I receive the money then change the payment sequence? Have to say that I didn't think any Government department could act that quickly, or was I just being fobbed off? Would it be better if I wrote in to confirm that I wanted my pension paid weekly instead of monthly?

Each to their own, but we are happy with our 4 weekly payments. Apart from the faff of monitoring all those payments for both of us, as there are 13 X 4 weeks per calendar year we each get a double payment every 12th month.

We opted for weekly payments. The advantage is you get your money sooner, making bill paying easier if you are on a tight budget or earn slightly more interest this way if you are saving it. Weekly payments are regular as clockwork, even down to the time of day, into your current account and quite satisfying to get confirmation of payment by text from your bank.
