Not sure if anyone can comment but would appreciate any comments that may help me with this. My friend joined NEST in August 2013.

-2.9% (2014)
24.4% (2015)
0.7% (2016)
23.2% (2017)
-1.5% (2018)
6.4% (2019)
-15.5% (2020)
32.1% (2021)
Anyone got their pension invested in this fund and can compare what they have received against the quoted figures above? I am interested to know the return for the year 2014-15, 2016-17 and 2020-21, where the returns have been quite significant, at 24.4%, 23.2% and 32.1% respectively.
I am a bit sceptical as to how these returns are so large for these years, so would like someone else to confirm that they have also received these returns themselves, or point me in the direction of the fund performance returns as it is not available on the NEST website.
Thanks.

Has your friend contacted NEST to ask for confirmation of the figures for 2014, 2015 and 2016?Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!1 -

the cummulative over the last 5 years, which would be to 2021 as the statement dates are in July, is 43.2%, and this compares with 45.4% on my calculations spreadsheet. So a cumulative figure is not too way out but each individual one does sound incorrect as the last year's perfomance on the link is 9.3%, compares to 32.1% in his benefit statement.
He hasn't paid any attention to the statements and I have just looked at them for him today. I thought I should ask here before getting him to call NEST. The statements don't look right to me.0 -
Nest have historical fund prices available to download. https://www.nestpensions.org.uk/schemeweb/nest/nestcorporation/investment-approach/fund-factsheets.html0

They don't appear to be calendar years but they are not far off.

Generally, if you pick a short term period just after a major stockmarket crash then it is normal to see that sort of figure.
