Comping and Moving House

Hi all

We're looking to move house at some point.

How have you all managed comping during a period of moving house?
e.g. have you taken a break or deliberately not entered comps that ask for an address straight away?

Yeah I'd probably only enter competitions that don't need an address.
Then if they contact you for an address during the moving period, ask them if they are happy to send it to a friend/family. 
As anything can happen.

When we rented an apartment, we were a few days before moving to a rented house and the owner disappeared and we were stuck in limbo (and this was through an estate agent!) we were very lucky that our landlord had let us stay a little longer and didn't have a new tenant due to move in, although people had sent us moving in cards and things, which we never saw.
Buying would be a bit different, but still things can happen.

You can however get your post redirected, which I'd probably pay for 6 months if I were to move, but that would only be Royal Mail, I think not sure if other services offer similar.

You could also leave your address or mobile number with the new occupants, if they are happy to let you know or pass things on.

Don't forget to change your address on all the competitions sites, magazine sites and radio sites once you've moved etc.

I'm moving soon and I've just been using a family members address (with their permission of course!) Is that something you can do?
