Has anyone been told they can no longer collect Tesco Club Card Points when using a fuel card to pay?

Yes, my husband has never been able to use both. Same with his current fuel card which is BP, they won’t accept the BP rewards card along with the fuel card as you usually get a special rate on fuel with a fuel card so loyalty points aren’t issued.

I think they stopped doing the points on fuel a while ago.

So - I've done some digging and actually read the T&C's and it seems that although you absolutely can get CC points on fuel at a rate of 1 point per £2 spend - it is only on consumer spending but business transactions are not (and as far as i can tell have never been) allowed. Most, but not all, fuel cards are business cards and therefore you cannot get CC points if you buy fuel for businesses using any of the fuel cards accepted by Tesco. The T&C's is clear when it says 'The scheme is only for personal and consumer use. Clubcard cards and key fobs cannot be used for any business transaction or purpose'
It seems our local Tesco petrol station staff have been reminded that CC points are not available to those paying with Fuel Cards...but of course, it's not so easy to determine who is paying by company credit card (which is effectively the same) because the staff don't get to see the card (fuel cards are usually swiped at the till and manually signed for transactions)  However, it also seems that HMRC has also been looking at this 'perk' and are beginning to class it as a cash benefit and applying taxation rules...

I guess it takes time for directives to filter down from head office. As I say - it's a tricky line to draw, someone using a company credit card would be indistinguishable from someone using a personal card as the staff won't see it. Fuel cards are usually 'swipe and sign' so staff can see it's a business transaction. The T&C's have always said no business transactions for CC points and if HMRC starts making a point of looking for them then it's something to look out for.

Or if you use a Tesco credit card as the Clubcard you get 1 point per £1 spend
