london mint offers

I hope this resolved this Chris without parting with any money?
I walked into one of the London Mint scams late last year - November 2023.
I received some information that I thought was from the Royal Mint and proceeded to their website looking at a King Charles commemorative coin. Having given my home address the penny dropped and I realised it was the London Mint not the Royal Mint and I left the website.
Then without having made payment, in the post arrived the commemorative coin along with an invoice. I phoned them, explained the error and asked for the procedures to return the item. They said they would send a returns label in the post. Sadly this returns label never arrived - but almost daily invoice reminders did.
On the 13th December 2023 I phoned their Customer Services again, they apologised and promised to send out a label and to ignore the invoice reminders. A label arrived on the 23rd December 2023, not not before more emails requesting payment along with letters in the post requesting payment.
I suspect the average age of people buying commemorative coins is older and many of those are being preyed on and scared into making payments for items they do not want. In my experience, London Mint are very quick to dispatch items, very quick to send invoices and reminder invoices and letters. They are however VERY slow in activating returns. BEWARE.
I have returned the item to London Mint via the Royal Mail who gave me a receipt for the return, however, on the 13/01/24 I received a letter dated 07/01/24 adding £20 to the original invoice for late payment. London Mint have not confirmed having received the item back. The letter date (7th) and arrival date (13th) is also another trick of theirs in that they give 10 days notice (17th) of further action.
THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS.
Today I have received another letter today dated 22/01/24 from DRS (Debt Recovery Specialists) with a heading inside a large red banner "Act Now - this won't go away". The letter is chasing £53.9 (not 90) for goods received.
Recap:
Item was not paid or officially ordered, but dispatched when not wanted.
It was sent to me without me having made payment
They were late sending back returned labels.
Item was returned using their label.
Additional costs added for late payment.
Now a 'Debt Recovery' letter.
AVOID AVOID AVOID.
As I mention above most elderly people would be petrified into making payment. London Mint may then to choose to send them further items without orders and continue to invoice. They must be making thousands out of venerable people.0 -

Just a quick post for anyone else who might be having issues with The London Mint Office — particularly around billing or debt-related letters even after you've settled your account.
We recently went through a frustrating experience where letters continued to arrive despite the account showing a zero balance. After several follow-ups, we finally received confirmation from them that the balance was clear and any further debt letters should be ignored.
Here are a few tips based on our experience:
-
Keep a record of all correspondence (emails, letters, dates of phone calls).
-
If you receive a letter suggesting a debt when you believe the account is settled, follow up promptly and firmly request written confirmation of your account status.
-
Don’t be alarmed if a debt-related letter arrives after resolution — they admitted their system sometimes sends these out due to delays.
-
We used AI tools (like ChatGPT) to help clarify communication, draft responses, and keep things calm and clear — worth considering if you’re managing a long chain of back-and-forths like we did.
-
If needed, consider reaching out to The London Mint over LinkedIn rather than direct by emai or phone. We found that was more effective.
Hope this helps someone else navigating the same issues.
