What is going on with my job?

Hi,
If I were you, I'd want management to explain exactly what this (taken from your OP) actually means and ask them to give details.
"I have management saying that I am not meeting targets and expectations for the role (not that these were ever discussed previously)"
It's all a bit vague and as you say the targets and explanations were never discussed before, I'd want to delve more into that. I'd prepare some questions and some explanatory notes of my own and ask for an official meeting that is recorded in some way, either by a secretary taking notes or via a recorder.
Even if you haven't been there long enough to have any proper rights, you do deserve a proper explanation. And it will show 'management' (they're horrible!) that you're not just going to take their actions lying down.
I'd also contact acas, just to clarify the situation. Sometimes employees DO actually have rights.
https://www.acas.org.uk/contact It's worth a try, for nothing. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts. Although I do carry out careful research before posting and never intend to mislead or supply out-of-date or incorrect information, please do not rely 100% on what you are reading. Verify everything in order to protect yourself as you are responsible for any action you consequently take.0 -
Honest as difficult as it sounds look for another job, stay with them until they make a call. Don't resign. make them pay you your notice period if the worst happens. Honestly why would you stay, better for your sanity to move out of a toxic environment.0

You may "want" it but there is no legal way of making them give an explanation unless they choose to do so.MalMonroe said:Hi,

The OP may "deserve a proper explanation" but again there is no way of forcing one!1 -
but also be aware that if you are "fired" this may stop you from getting a job elsewhere. sometimes it's better to jump than wait to be pushed.happyc84 said:Honest as difficult as it sounds look for another job, stay with them until they make a call.
