Am I self employed or employed?

Options
Hi all,

I started a job a few months ago 'employed' by a company on an ad hoc basis. I do not need to invoice they pay me and sort all my travel etc, however, I do my own tax with an accountant.

Will this count as self-employed or employed in the eyes of gaining a mortgage?

What answer do you get if you following the on-line status checkers? Note that you can be classed self-employed for tax but classed as employed for employment rights

If the company are not paying employers N I then they are regarding you as self employed.  Whether that is the correct classification for you would be determined if HMRC decide to investigate the company.

What sort of contract do you have with them?
Googling on your question might have been both quicker and easier, if you're only after simple facts rather than opinions!
