Effects of hard check on credit file

Hi there,
We were in the process of remortgaging to buy a second property and finally the sale fell through.
We had a hard credit check done recently for the purposes of this mortgage.
As we do not feel with the financial and mental power to restart this process, we would like to remortgage our property repaying mortgage to different lender that offers better conditions in this scenario.
How much impact will the hard check that was performed in the first application affect the later one?
Can be this somehow explained?
Many thanks in advance

@magicmcone Unless it was done in the last couple of days, it should have no material impact on a new mortgage application.
