What Small Things Will You Do This Week? 16/05/22

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important 😀

Afternoon folks!
Ooooof why are we over half way through May?! Like what the actual?! A very rainy start here which is excellent as I put lawn seed and feed down last night in anticipation of the rain. Also sowed some more carrots yesterday for the same reason.
Another busy weekend done and dusted. I'm not sure how they go so quickly.
Today's MSE things:
B/L/D from stores
OH working - picked up at 5
Go for lunchtime and after-work walks
Update budget sheet - done
Gym this morning 1/3 (already paid for so making sure I use them!) - done
I'm WFH today so no petrol spend - done
Possible make some rhubarb "ketchup" this evening
We are rat-sitting a friend's pets so free entertainment, except one has already taken a nip at me! Little so-and-so.
Spendy things:
None as far as I'm aware!
Other things:
Sew more of the evil blanket
Have a good one all

I remember this thread from a while back! Just re-found you and would love to join again - I found it really helpful in keeping me focused 😁
I had a good money-saving weekend - renegotiated my sky package; brought my washing line back into use (which really upset the gigantic spider who had taken up residence! 😳) and did 5 loads of washing/line drying; made 'bottom-of-the-fridge' soup.
Yesterday I hung out washing again (this really is a monumental step forward for me - I've not done it for over 5 years so pretty proud of myself! 😉😂), left my purse at home when I went out so I couldn't spend and stuck to the meal plan for meals.
Today I am going to use my multi-cooker to make dinner (it will take less time to cook in there than it would for my oven to get to temperature!); prepare food for the next couple of days (I have my grandbaby staying with me for a week tomorrow and won't be able to get anything done so preparing today will make sure I stick to the meal plan 😉); do a quick check on my bank balances to make sure that everything is allocated prior to my bank account switch next week and sow some more lettuce seeds.

Afternoon folks
Woke up an hour early this morning as I accidentally left my alarm on. Used the extra time to make the rhubarb ketchup - although I forgot to add the salt at the end. The recipe did say "to taste" so I don't think it was integral.
My energy fix runs out on the 1st July - my provider emailed today with my new estimated monthly bills. If we stick to the standard variable (cheapest) then it goes from £79 per month to £113 per month. Oooof.
MSE things today:
B/L/D from stores
Made rhubarb ketchup with rhubarb from the allotment and used recycled jam jars
OH working
I'm WFH as OH has the car
Lunchtime and after work walks
Spendy things:
None - NSD
Other things:
Blanket, I hate you
Have a good one all
