We are a bit anxious about stepdaughter. They removed her left breast a few weeks ago,we thought that was the end,but they are suddenly talking about radiotherapy. but we know nothing more than that. Is it just as a sort of ''mop up'',a killing off of any remaining cancer cells,or is it a start of treatment on the other breast? We still dont know.Yes,ads are a nightmare. I used to watch a lot of foreign crime dramas on All4,on Walter Presents. Ads at the beginning and end,and every 15 mins just like TV ad breaks. But now there are much more of them.All4 offer you the ad free option £4.99 amonth. That seems to be the new trend, very annoying.Perhaps I'll start doing what I did way back when I wanted to be more active as I was recovering from knee surgery, hysterectomy and whatever op was flavour of the month where I did a tiny job, such as cleaning out a drawer whenever there was an ad break.Break one I would completely empty the drawer, and sort out the items. Next break I'd clean the drawer and items. Next break I'd put the stuff back nice and neat. I started out doing it once every evening, and slowly increased my work as I grew stronger.Could be just cleaning the light switches in a room, polishing a side table top,.sorting out paperwork. scraping the bottom of a saucepan, putting teatowels to soak. I became energised, and active, and with the intermittent fasting, and reduced carbs became fitter, and the diabetes went into remission. I got to the point that normal healthy people feel, active and WANTING to do something Within 6 months I had sorted out the whole house, and had a place for everything and everything in its place. I had increased my walking from 5 mins in the house to 30 mins outside Such a great feeling
Sadly once the anaemia and thyroid took over I became too lethargic, depressed and full of brain fog,and all I had gained was now lost
I cant abide ordinary TV ,and have watched all the iplayer etc drama I like on catch up channels,so I watch a lot of You Tube videos. Thats because of my eyes,I cant read easlly or for long,so I watch TV instead. But the irritating thing is instead of doing a lot of ads together they often spread them out,and the ads only last 1-2 mins,no time to pop in the kitchen and do a little job!

@Muddy_Walker . Oops ,forgot. Yes I enjoyed Jacqueline Druga's ''Gone'',and am now doing the second book in the series. had to put it as my TBR for challenges etc is insane this month. Far too many books,I'll never finish them. I'll eventually get to your other recommendation, was it James Hetley,or something like that?I read entirely online now,as I can magnify the print, too difficult with print books with my wonky eyes.I have been buying books on kindle with gay abandon - xmas and birthday book vouchers.Once they are gone,no buying books still next xmas. Back to free stuff online. At the moment my main reads are ;-+Lindsey Davis ''Comedy of Terrors'',a lighthearted murder mystery set in ancient Rome. Its OK,and engaging enough, but my heart belongs to the father of the heroine,Marcus Didius Falco, hero of 20 mystery novels. I scarf up the tiny nuggets of info about him that the heroine lets drop!+ Milton's ''Paradise Lost'' epic, amazing, very difficult,I have been on a month, and have finished 8 of the12 books.hope to finish this month)+ Michael Innes vintage crime book ''There Came Both Mist and Snow'',+and a horror short story which scared the proverbial out of me even on a 3rd reading,Harlan Ellison ''I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream.Terrible but written so wonderfully by Harlan Ellison,I keep returning to it....sucker for punishment......You do understand that when I say I am not reading much,it is relative, meaning probably 10-12 books a month. In the good old days it was 20 or more........sigh.......2

I don’t remember that name…..doesn’t sound familiar. I seem to have picked up a run of terrible books lately! I read “don’t lie to me” by Willow Rose, edge of the seat stuff and a wicked end….picked up the next one “what you did” pile of rubbish. I do like horror so will look out for that one you mentioned!

Dusty, I get an email each day from Bookbub with suggestions based on the info I gave them. Usually they are 99p or free books on amaz0n. Might be worth a look for your kindle books.2025 Fashion on the ration

I am always far behind all the popular reads of the reading public,as I am attempting to do book lists on my SF website.Such books,50 years old or more, never turn up on such sites, and are never popular with the general public so you dont see deals showing up.. I have several free booksites, and have a long list TBR I keep on Worlds Without End,its around 200 books long
. And some of them are series, where I only list the first in series, and there may 5 or 6 more books yet unlisted. Anyway,I have hundreds of free books available to me,so I am not deprived by any means.
No I will happily continue increasing my knowledge of my favourite genre. I wont be buying the latest books as a rule. eg,I have read all the Hugo winners up to 2021,but I am not willing to pay £6.99 on kindle just to be a completist. I will wait a while and try to get it a few quid cheaper.

Same here, dusty! I usually buy the 99p or free books, unless it's something I really want to read, then I'll ask for a voucher for my birthday or Christmas. Sometimes I will add on the Audible version if it's cheap enough then I can listen while baking or changing the bed etc..

Me too! When I think of the money I spent and the 100s of books I had….I moved a lot too and they all came with me…..
Dusty before I forget and I know you have a zillion of books to be read I’d like to suggest the Sister Joan series…. I enjoyed every single one and they are so easy to read and written very well! Can’t remember who wrote them - will have a look - and let you know!⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering
