Questions on BTL and tax

Hi
I have 2 different questions and although I have searched the internet I cannot find the answers and I wondered if anyone could please help.
1. When buying a BTL property costs are incurred for searches . Are these revenue costs that you can claim on your Annual Tax Return in the Property Section, or are they capital costs which you would include on the Capital Gains Computation when you come to sell the property?
2. The Service Charges paid on BTL Leasehold flats. Where are these entered on the Property Section page?
Many thanks in advance.

Searches conducted in buying a property are part of the acquisition costs of that property for capital gains tax. Service charges should go in box 24 of SA105.2
