Just checking in as it’s been a few days.

We’re crawling towards payday and money is getting tighter and tighter, but should be manageable with a bit of planning.

    So positives this week:
    1. £30ish in eBay and fb sales
    2. School uniform all purchased
    3. 10k run completed
    4. £15 in cash back through my works gift card scheme. Will cost £1 to withdraw to bank account so may reinvest it in gift cards for Christmas.

    The not so positive:
    1. Forgot to cancel dog food subscription as I’d gotten out of sync with it. £48 worth of dog food arrived yesterday. It’ll get used but could have done without the expense.
    2. OH needed 2 new tyres - another £250 gone.
    3. Food bill is embarrassing

Morning - it’s so wet here today, I can’t believe it! Just about to head out to sort the ponies and may actually have to put long trousers and a hoody on for the first time in an age!

Had another 2 sales last night making another £25 ish - spending 5 mins of my lunch break relisting a couple of items in fb was time well spent!

Just been looking through my utilities app at what we’ve used over the last 12 months. We switched to the variable rate half way through July and even with the increase in tarrif, we paid £20 less than an average month. Really pleased with that as it shows our efforts to reduce usage are paying off 😊.

    Morning!

I’ve tried twice in the last week to post an update and twice I’ve managed to lose it 🙄. Thankfully there wasn’t a massive amount to report!

EBay and fb sales have been good - I’m just sitting it out until payday to see where I’ll direct the money to.

Been looking at our budget and the one truly variable cost that I can control at the moment is the food shopping. This I know has been spiralling out of control and I really need to spend the next month reining it in. I’ve made a start on batch cooking (one bag of veggie mince and a load of lentils has made 4x generous portions of lasagne and one of Bolognese!). The increase on some of our staples has been ridiculous and I fear it’s only going to get worse.

DS goes back to school in just over a week. As much as I’ve loved having him at home, I’m beginning to crave the routine and free time on my non working days that school brings. I’ve got a list of jobs I’m needing to tackle and looking forward to getting stuck in.

It’s finally beginning to get light here, so I’m going to sign off and drag myself out for a run before I change my mind!

    Have a good day x
