State Pension and Death before retirement

If there was a demand for it, it would undoubtedly be possible for the government to change the state pension scheme to operate on a transferable basis, but it certainly wouldn't be cheap to implement, and, like any other government expenditure, would have to be funded by the taxpayer, so how much of the additional associated tax burden would you be willing to contribute and how would you convince others that they should do likewise?IAMIAM said:This is exactly why I always recommend retiring early. IE 60/58 and would always take actuarial reduction and reduced benefits. This post is typical of what a lot of what friends and family have experienced....Especially civil service friends. Pension died and State Pension died with them. No transfer out of benefits allowed.
In the mean time, it clearly isn't transferable, beyond some limited spousal concessions, so are you (or anyone else) wanting to start some sort of WASPI-like campaign if feeling this to be unfair?0
