GWR Online Refund System - What is an End Date?

Hi All,

This may be a silly question, but what is an 'end date'?

I'm using GWR's online refund system to request e-vouchers for unused Advance tickets (I have Covid) & I do not know what date to put in.

Because I needed to submit my claim quickly as I should have travelled the next day, I guessed it meant date of travel. My claims have been turned down because GWR say '
Unfortunately, we cannot find a record of your ticket based on the evidence from your application and have therefore been unable to process your claim. We will re-evaluate your claim if you can provide further ticket evidence.'

As I've provided the booking reference & uploaded a photo of each ticket (as a separate claim) I'm surprised they can't find any records, but maybe I've given the wrong end date?

What date should I enter? Thanks in advance.

How did you buy the tickets? Were they definitely purchased from GWR, or did you use another ticket vendor / app / provider?

    Through GWR.com.

A neighbour works for a different train operator & explained that 'end date' is a movable date, dependent on ticket type. So for an advance single it will be the date of travel, but for an open return it will be the last date the return journey could be taken, usually a month.

    So I'd guessed correctly.

I finally got through to an actual person who couldn't understand why all 3 claims were denied - she could see I'd provided all the necessary information for each claim.

It's being looked into by GWR. Still no e-voucher issued.
