Final payment in tax year 2021 -2021

in Cutting tax
Can anyone please give me the definitive of what someone is paid for and when?
If I worked in WK 47 48 49 50 and am paid monthly - should the payslip and calculations be in that tax period even though the actual payroll did not run until the 12th April putting it in the new tax year?
I fully understand that the employer must submit the FPS within 24 hours of my actual payment - but by calculating in the new tax year has had a big impact on my actual pay - not only have I paid national insurance at the new higher rate - but I started a new job on the 8th April so my tax free allowance has already been used by the old employer.
It also means that my Year End P60 is wrong and my year to date figures for this new tax year are also wrong. Anything I earn in April will be looked on as a second job.
I have raised this with the payroll department at my old employer but they are refusing to recalculate my payslip to reflect my actual earnings for the correct period worked.
Any help or advice would be really appreciated.

As a general rule you are taxed when a payment is made.
Seems a bit strange that you should work weekly but get paid monthly.
Was this the usual time of payment, did you receive a payment on or about 12 March0 -
What was your pay date before April 12th- March 12 th?
What tax month was shown on that payslip?0 -
Payslip reads WK 48 and the it was for the 3rd March - thank you0

Has there been any explanation why the later payment?
eg Perhaps change to monthly pay or change to pay period so paid more in arrears than before?0
