The door-step caller had no more right to rights than a chocolate teapot. it sounds like this debt is statute barred.
In which case, nothing to stop resolvecall asking you nicely to pay it.
And absolutely no requirement for you to pay it or legal action that you cannot wholly defend.
Get a copy of the statute barred template letter from the stickies at the top of the forum and send it to resolvecall.

And if your doorstep caller returns - instruct him in no uncertain terms that he is not welcome anywhere on your property and should leave immediately, and then shut the door.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Hi just received a letter today off resolvecall that has been sold on to them from a company called interum uk
the debt they are chasing must be roughly nearly 15 years old
So I would think it’s statute barred
So just asking for advice when they knock my door
thanks0 -
Intrum have a complex business structure that includes Crapquest. If you check these threads, you'll see that they have both been busy recently trying to resurrect old debts they were assigned in 2023.
Have you paid or made written acknowledgement of this debt in the last 6 years? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0 -
I doubt it will have been sold to Resolvecall, they are simply collection agents and will be working on behalf of Intrum.
Best not to engage with these people at the door, although they have zero authority to do anything, print off a couple of copies of the statute barred letter, send one to Resolvecall, and one to Intrum.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
