CCJ set aside and credit score

Hello
i had a ccj put against my name for an old Halifax debt back in January. I wasn’t aware till February as I had moved house and so didn’t receive the letters. I had previously told the creditor about my change of address (and tried to pay) and so on this basis the creditor’s lawyers have agreed to consent to setting aside the ccj if I pay monthly and sign a Tomlin order. I have just replied with an offer to pay the debt in full (minus their admin costs and the n244 fee) and hopefully they will agree.

My partner and I are going to be applying for a mortgage later this year, and so of course I’m really grateful I’m potentially able to get this set aside so that it’s removed from my report. My question is, is there anything else I should request to keep my report clean/improve my score. I’ve read something about hard searches, should I ask that they don’t do any, and how can I ensure that they actually consent and have this ccj set aside?

You have to be very careful where set aside by consent is concerned.
Courts are not stupid, and know you are trying to clear your credit file by pulling a fast one, so to speak.
If the judge agrees, then all well and good, if they don`t agree, then that`s life.
The court has no discretion to order credit searches to be removed from credit files, you can`t ensure anything Unfortunatly, you pay`s your money, and you roll`s the dice.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
