Cash Income - Payslips and Bank Statement Income Not Tally

Hi, I am asking on behalf of my friend.

She is FTB and applying RBS mortgage. However she just realised her income on the payslips it's not match with her bank statement.

She is paid cash in hand and she will use the cash to buy groceries, pay council tax etc and the remaining deposit into her account.

Do you all think this will affect her mortgage application?

Thanks.

Why is she paid cash in hand?

For mortgage they will need payslips and lend based on income received based on payslip and bank statement.

@mtwtfss There are a few lenders who will consider applicants whose salary is paid in cash.

Not sure what RBS policy is as they are a direct only lender. Your friend should check with them before putting in a full application or during the initial appointment.

They need to persuade their employer to pay directly to their bank account. This is how 99.9% of people get their salary.
