The prize:

The winner and guest will stay for two nights, B&B, at The Star in Alfriston, East Sussex. The striking, 15th-century building was once a religious hostel and was relaunched last year by the mother-and-daughter team of Olga and Alex Polizzi. It offers 30 bedrooms in the original inn and the more recent extensions – all furnished in Olga’s trademark style. Expect a rich mix of antiques and contemporary furniture, as well as vibrant prints and fabrics – and beautiful period details in the older parts of the building.

The prize includes one dinner for two – excluding drinks – at The Star’s restaurant, where the chef Tim Kensett (formerly of the River Café) focuses on seasonality, clarity of flavours and the best Sussex produce.

It must be taken before November 30, 2022, subject to availability and excluding July, August and bank holidays.
