Garuntor rent arrears

Hi peeps

Need some advice. I unfortunately lost my dad to cancer in December prior to him passing away he was living in private rental accomdation for which I was his garuntor. The landlord evicted my dad as he wanted the property back . My dad vacated the property no mention of rent arrears

The landlord has now made contact with me stating my dad's owed him £1200 in rent and I am liable to pay as I was the garuntor

I would have thought he should have mentioned the rent arrears to the court when he evicted my dad , am I liable to pay

If the landlord can prove the arrears, as guarantor you may be liable. It will depends on what the terms and conditions were on the guarantor agreement you signed.
