    Hi

I am compiling a list of household chores that we don't do on a daily or Weekly Basis .. such as Cleaning the Gutters...
I had this agreement with DH that if he does all these tasks, I will do the daily chores on my own
    Till now I have got
    1. Clean Windows from Outside - Once in Two Months
    2. Lawn Mowing - Fortnightly in Summers/ Spring
    3. Pressure Wash Patio - Once in 3 Months
    4. Duvet Washing - Once in 3 Months(Waiting in Launderette)
    5. Cleaning the Gutters - Every 6 Months
    6. Car Washing and Vacuum - Fortnightly/ Monthly

Are you seriously saying that this is all he'll be expected to do in exchange for you doing everything that needs doing in the house every single day?

I bet he's well chuffed with the arrangement as its stuff most men consider their jobs anyway.

I realise this is not the completed list but even so its hardly a fair division of labour?
How does a brown cow give white milk, when it only eats green grass?
  • Personally I'd add putting petrol in the car. DH would drive 50 miles with the petrol light on before he'd bother. whereas I hate being less than quarter full.
  • My OH can only cope with simple chores. ;) So I have compiled him the following list which I have written on a post it note and stuck to his forehead;

    Get up.
    Step over discarded dirty clothes.
    Stumble to bathroom.
    Wash.
Leave bathroom looking like Flipper the Dolphin has had a party with all his dolphin friends in the sink.
Stagger downstairs remembering to swear when he trips on a Barbie.
    Put kettle on.
Go back up to get dressed.
Alarmed by smell of burning, run back downstairs to put water in the kettle.
    Put kettle on again.
Make coffee, putting milk in mine when I take it black.
    Leave for work.
    Come back in for keys.
    Leave for work again.
    Return for briefcase.
    Go to work. ;)

Like I said. We're just taking it in baby steps but it has only been 10 years. :D

    Good luck OP. ;)

    Wash down garage door.
Take down light fittings for cleaning and reposition.
Taking the wheeling bin/recycling box out weekly, and bringing in.

  • I assume you have got him the essential apron MQ?

Well, someone has to ask :D )

  • Thanks to all...:j :T

Miserly_mum - I just want a very long list so that he has atleast something to do daily..
and believe me the tasks that I am seeing in here are either not done in our house or he is willing to pay someone else to do them..like washing the car (even if we have a pressure washer that was bought for this only)

We buy a new duvet every 6 months ...(This time we are taking it to the laundrette)

So it would be MS also if he does these

nopot2pin - I will ask him about this... He is a great cook also...

HariboJunkie - so what is next chore he is learning

I think we can add spring cleaning also... :rotfl:

Got to go.. he is waiting for breakfast...

    Keep them coming...

Hi MQ I think buying a new duvet every 6 months is a good idea. It costs a lot to get them cleaned and even the laundrette isn't cheap. I usually get our duvets from TJ Hughes for around £15 or less and then chuck them rather than clean.
