A Quick Word of Support...

Hello,

I've been thinking about posting this for a while, but did not want people to think I was being funny or patronising or anything.

I'm a long-term user of the site and it has helped me to organise my finances and get out of debt, hopefully for good, and I just wanted to say congrats to all of those who have had the guts to come and ask for help on these boards, whether their debt is small or large.

Although I can't claim to have been on the edge of destitution and can't begin to imagine what some DFW posters have gone through/are going through with their debts I have experienced some of the worry of not knowing where your next rent payment is coming from and having DCAs calling and sending letters out. Thankfully those days are behind me and I hope that all those posting here can begin to see an end to that too.

My motivation for posting this is really that I've been reading a lot of the posts on the board and I do admire those who have been able to take charge of their situation and look forward instead of back, whatever the best solution for them is - whether it is a DMP, Bankruptcy or whatever and I wanted to offer some congratulations to them and also encourage those who are lurking and reading to post and ask for help when they need it.

The news is full these days of stories about spiralling debt etc etc but there are not enough stories that show people taking charge of their debt and spending and climbing out of that spiral and there should be as so many of the posters here are shining examples of this.

Anyway, I just want to say well done to you all and wish you a Merry and Moneysaving Christmas and all the best for 2008.

:T :T :T :T :T :T :T :T
(and lots of these too)
I'm so sexy it's a wonder my underpants don't explode.

I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
