  • Right, time to post my Autumn/Winter list - some of these things are carried forward from the last lists but that's because it didn't occur to me that I'd be better off having two seasonal lists - the reality is that there are certain jobs that are really weather dependent so it makes sense to make the lists seasonal!

    Frogs - things that will take a weekend/few days to complete;

    Froglets - things that will take a full day/most of a day to complete;

Tadpoles - things that will take an hour / couple of hours to complete

Frogspawn - quick win things that can be done in less than an hour

Anyway, enough waffling - my September-February/Autumn- Winter list is as follows:

    FROGS
    Remove old boiler
    Install new boiler
    Weed front garden beds
Weed and re-plant large bed under oak tree
    Sort cracked plaster in bedrooms
    Sort boards for under windowsills
    Lower fireplace
    Empty and clean greenhouse

    FROGLETS
Build shelves in old boiler cupboard
    Clean grout in hallway
    Sort understair cupboard
Clear spent veg beds and plant green manure
Weed and replant under damson tree

    TADPOLES
Empty, clean and reorganise food cupboards
    Clean bathroom radiator
    Descale shower head
    Sort wine
    Make elderberry cordial

    SPAWN
Cut back shrubs in front and back gardens
    Sort freezers
    Do food inventory
    Bottle damson gin
    Clear out clothes drawers
    Plant up winter salads

I will add to the lists as I go along - I'm hoping to make a start on them next week when my grandbaby goes back to school 😁

leftatthetrafficlight Golly I feel worn out just reading your to-do list :)

I have decluttered a good deal of the useless items in my cultery drawers, kept the butter curler though as I found if I use it to do a small dish of curls then the block butter is a good deal cheaper than the ready to spread stuff and some curls in a small dish usuallu soften without too mucch trouble fairly quickly to ready to spread butter The rest of the odds and ends were washed, bagged and dropped off at the CS along with a bag of books from my upstairs bookcse as I'm now using two shelves of that to store the overflow of tinned and stashed stuff for the coming winter

I think I'm metamorphosing into a  squirrel this winter :):)

My eldest DD said she will come down and sort out my bulging wardrobe for me as I have far too many clothes, and a lot are unworn. She said she will post them on vinted and I said what ever she gets she can keep towards her holiday.

I've also found someone who will take my stash of washed ,clean lidded jamjars (why on earth do i keep them ?) the lady said she will use them for her marmalade making and has promised me a jar when cooked I had about 20 in the cupboard So at least they will be found useful.
It's slow going at times decluttering, but its got to be done ,and with the onset of autumn/winter it will give me something to do when I can't get out in bad weather.

Not doing too badly, I've started on a few of the outstanding jobs but they are still works in progress so can't come off the lists yet! 😉

I've got a busy week ahead which means it all has to go on hold until November but I'm intending to complete all the garden stuff by the middle of November.

Those aren't frogs, @leftatthetrafficlights - they are whole ponds!  I think you have achieved loads.  I'm going to pinch your seasonal idea and scribbl a list today.

We have in-laws coming in three weeks, which will give us a bit of a nudge.
