The prize

This month’s outstanding prize is a 12-bottle case of wines. It includes French classics from Bordeaux, Burgundy and the Rhône Valley, but also a brilliant Priorat from Spain that was my pick of the bunch. There are two traditional method sparkling wines in the selection, a Crémant from Burgundy and a fine Brut Champagne, and with summer round the corner, there’s a delightful and delicate rosé from Provence.
