Hello,
Just wondered if there is anything I can do prior to the install to help the SEG to go through smoothly ?
Just in case light renewables give me the certificates I need , MCS and G98 anything else?
Also how long does the process take from application to receiving export payments roughly.
Although the SEG element will hopefully be small every little helps I suppose.

It's worth making it clear that you will pay the final invoice once all documentation has been provided by the installers. You will need that before applying for SEG.

Make it part of the agreement that you pay when the G98 certificate has been provided by the dno. This is just good practice. In sending the application to the dno, the installer should also send:

With shell energy, I emailed completed application form and all documents on 8th Feb this year.
They responded on 10th Feb, to say they had all they needed and had requested an export mpan to be created by the distribution network operator.
Registration was completed on 21st Feb.

Emailed copies of the necessary solar installation documents to Octopus on 15th March and they started recording my export data from 5th April, initially on their SEG only tariff. My supply switch, also started on 15th March, took until 21st April and at that point I was moved over to their Outgoing Agile tariff.
Octopus credit the export amount to my bill which I plan to request monthly. There's some nice daily/weekly/monthly stats available through my online account so I can track how much I'm earning.Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Octopus knock the credit off my generated bill each month, I literally don't thave to do anything - it's completely automated.
