We were in the middle of transferring names on the deeds when we were advised by a solicitor, there is a charge registered against the property.....
Unfortunately I didn't see the message in time so I couldn't ask the question but what does this mean?

A charge means that another party has a financial interest in the property. Change of ownership has potential consequences for the charge holder.0

So who could have added this and what is involved to remove this?
