What is a charge registered against a property?

We were in the middle of transferring names on the deeds when we were advised by a solicitor, there is a charge registered against the property.....
 
Unfortunately I didn't see the message in time so I couldn't ask the question but what does this mean?

A charge means that another party has a financial interest in the property. Change of ownership has potential consequences for the charge holder.

So who could have added this and what is involved to remove this? 

Just realised a sentence on the declaration of trust. Not sure what this is saying

 This register contains any charges and other matters that affect the land.  

A Transfer of the land in this title and other land dated 10 January 2005 made between (1) AAAA and (2) BBB

Trading Limited contains restrictive covenants.

A Transfer of the land in this title dated made.

between (1) AAA (2) CCC

(Cell G) Limited and (3)  NAME 1 AND NAME 2 contains a reservation of a rentcharge as therein mentioned.

The said Deed also contains covenants.
