My Top 7 Survey Sites

The criteria I look for in a survey site are:

Higher rates of pay
Good layout.. clear, uncluttered, easy to navigate, with adequately sized tick boxes.
Fast to load with minimal lagging
Interesting  subject matter
Not too long (under 30 mins)
No screening out halfway through or worse.
.

Without further ado, here are my top 5:

1:Y Live, (formally Populuslive.) It pays £1 per 5 mins, I usually get between 1 and 3 a day. It’s rare to get screened out of them. It seems like they match your demographics way more thoroughly, than most.
The subjects are often politics and curent affairs, and the layout is very user  friendly. The threshold is £50 which may put people off, though.
I’ve been with them 10 + years, and there has always been a steady stream, even though I’ve moved up the age bracket since.

2: Panelbase..
It was the 1st panel I ever joined, and its still going strong. I’ve had some higher paying online diary type work, online focus groups and product testing.
I usually get about 4 surveys a day.. They screen you out fast if you’re not a match, which is good.I think the threshold is £15, with either bank transfer or Love to Shop vouchers.

3:New Vista Live
.. similar to Y live in it’s layout and subject matter, but pays a bit less. It’s still better pay than most. Like Y Live, it’s a £50 threshold.

4: YouGov.. Again similar in format and subject, and pay  to Y Live, with £50 payout too. I don’t get invites every day though.

5: My newest one, Opinium Research. The payment threshold is £25, with a choice of bank transfer or Amazon vouchers.

Wild Cards:

6: Testable Minds
If I got a few of these a day, this would claim the no 1 spot, but unfortunately, they are few and far between. They are psychology and social science University research, and are enjoyable and interesting to take. The pay is good, once you’ve verified your identity.. between 6-10 dollars per test, and is paid via PayPal or Revolut, once you’ve reached $10, although Paypal takes 5% off.

7: Intellizoom..
This is a website and app tester, which, once you’ve passed their practice test, pays about $6 to $8 per test, and they take about 20 minutes to complete. I usually get a couple per day, and because it’s an American site, they usually appear after 11pm, which suits me as I’m a night owl. You need a quiet space, and be able to speak clearly, speak your thoughts out load, and follow the brief.

I have heard good things about Prolific, but I seem to be stuck on their wait list for months.

    Wow.  1 to 3 surveys A DAY?

I've been a member of Y Live (formerly Populus) for over 10 years and I get a handful a month, if that.

Quite often I get told I'm not eligible for the survey because, for example, I am not interested in football, or am not planning to change my phone in the next 6 months.  Or simply 'we've interviewed enough people of your demographic already'.

I just logged onto my account to check and the last time I was awarded points for a completed survey was the middle of March.  And that was the last survey invite I got, apart from the one at the start of April to ask if I still considered myself an active member (I replied promptly in the affirmative).

I must just be in the demographic that's either full of folk faster to enter than I do, or the demographic they don't have many surveys for!

'we've interviewed enough people of your demographic already'
This is what I usually get when I get an invitation to "an exciting new online community" where I have to answer questions including 'How many e-mail accounts do you check a week?' - after I answer '2', I get the standard 'all positions matching your demographic have been filled up' page.

I agree with the first one, at £1 per 5 mins the pay is acceptable and I usually get 3 or 4 redemptions a year - when I did yougov they only paid 50p per survey and they were almost always over 2.5 mins long and well under £1 per 5 mins, the other ones in the top 5 I had used and gave up on years ago along with 20 odd others - the only other 3 I do are Pinecone (maybe £40 a year)  Consumer Pulse (£200 + a year) and a media survey which is all prize draws (£50 last year)

I only actually use 2 of the sites mentioned Intellizoom and Panelbase top criteria for me is how much I can make lol
I can make more per month on the lower paying sites than the higher paying ones mainly due to the frequency of surveys being more plentiful
    Other ones I use
    PrizeRebel  £50 a month
    Opinion Outpost £60 a month
    Lifepoints £25 a month
Prolific swings and roundabouts bad months £30-£40 good months £70-£100
I can spend 5 hours a day doing surveys 5 days a week makes me feel useful and gives me some extra cash for treats

    I
I have found the best ones to be Valued opinions, Opinion outpost, Prolific, Ipsos, Pure Profile, Opiniom, Onepoll

The slowest earners of these are Pure Profile and Onepoll. The fastest are Opinion outpost and Prolific - I normally get around £40 a month from these two alone.

I tried Swagbucks but didn’t get on with them at all!
  • yes I hated swagbucks too ! .
it must depend on demographics as to how many surveys invites we get.. For some reason, I do get a lot from Y Live.
I really want to get into both Pinecone and Prolific.. Pinecone never takes my aplications as it always states it has enough people with my demographic.

I can’t answer if it is worthwhile.. it’s subjective. If you have better forms of income, then not, but myself, as a disabled housebound person, it is worth it to me,

For me I look for £1 for 5 mins for active input like surveys, I don't mind lower paying passive activities like letting videos run etc  which several years ago swagbucks used to be very good for and £60 to £80 a month was achievable with almost zero effort (surveys have never been worth doing on there with some worth 2p a minute or less)

Only two I am registered with currently are Pinecone (1 survey every 3 months or so) and Ipsos (keep getting screened out once the whole survey is mostly done).

Not worth it to be honest.
