Letter from council - band "error"

We've just had a letter through from the council asking to come and inspect our flat as they suspect there might be an "error" in the council tax.
I'm worried they are going to come and put our council tax up. Nothing has changed in the property. It's a maisonette so there's certainly been no extension. I don't understand how coming to inspect it will make a difference in what it cost in 1991?
We live in aberdeen, which is a strange property bubble, so I don't think the calculator can be reliable.

What are similar flats banded as - higher or lower? Might even work in your favour I suppose?0

Possible someone has tried to get their own band reduced and triggered the investigation?0

Talk to your neighbours, perhaps one of them is trying to get or has got their band reduced.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0
