There is still snow on the ground, and we have this wonderful invention called a thermostat which controls the heating so I don’t have to put heating off or on.

We have programmable room thermostats so the system stays on all year and each room demands heat when required.

I have a thermostat.  It decides whether or not my heating needs to be on.  I never actually turn the heating off all summer.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.

The thermostat turns it off when it's warm enough, and back on when it's cold. I thought the majority of houses had them nowadays?

I have a room thermostat in the hall and TRVs in all the the rooms, but I find it cheaper to put the heating on when needed, rather the thermostat constantly turn it on and off when the temperature drops. I also have double glazing and now have external wall insulation. I relied on the thermostats when I was working and usage was much higher. I only use 3000 kWh of gas when the UK average is 12000 kWh

Did the poll results load for you?

Didn’t for me and just showed charts loading for what seemed like a bet long time- probably only a minute but I gave up!
