Private dentist - to pay or not to pay..........

Having had a NHS molar extraction some 10 weeks ago, I then had to have some roots removed privately 3 weeks ago by a dental specialist at some expense. It was very sore for the first 2 weeks then was less so last week.
On Friday, a small infection was found which I am now taking antibiotics (4 days in out of 5) which seem to have worked to some degree. The private dentist told me today there is no sign of infection now. I said I'm still getting periodic twinges of light pain. The dentist said wait a week and if still sore they will take an xray to see if there is any root still left.
My question is, will I be expected to pay for the xray and more importantly if the dentist then has to go in again to remove the root?
Thanks

Hi. Why not just ask the dentist? They may charge since they are running a private business. But may not charge if it's considered to be continuing treatment for one problem.
If you need further Xrays and treatment you could go via the NHS.
Dentists in the UK aren't the same as they used to be, i.e. you don't have to be faithful to one, you can go to any which has openings/vacancies.
I've been told I need some roots removing because when I had an extraction (3 years ago!) they weren't all removed. Now this has put me off! My dentist said it was no big deal but you say you were in pain for two weeks and then had further pain . . . Two hours is too much pain for me.
