My wife works for the NHS and is employed as a bank nurse which means she can be sent anywhere within the Trust's area. She visits various different vaccine centres and is sometimes asked to drive 100 miles or so there is no mileage allowance paid at all as it cannot be claimed as you are on The Bank as it is called. She does not have a base or an office anywhere but is provided with lap top. The question is can she claim for all the mileage from home?

Also it's essential to have business "class 1" car insurance, if insurance is just the usual SD&P she won't be covered when travelling for work. See https://www.theaa.com/car-insurance/advice/business-car-use
