Music magpie or just give them to charity shop. Nobody needs cds anymore. Music is available by download.1

Can be strung up to scare birds off seeded ground (old VHS/cassette tape can be used to string them up if you have any of that to get rid of as well)

I'd say they might be worth something in about 30 years time.0

I agree that technically most people don't need CD's now, but equally -- a lot of people are rethinking hanging onto physical media, just going by people I know; there's increasing incidents where they have reported going on to popular online downloading &/or streaming media services and finding their favourite media/films/TV shows cut, or in some cases simply removed altogether from their library, on the grounds that someone, somewhere, was once offended by a tiny portion of the content.
Realistically at the moment, 20p each is probably round about right. Personally I don't find Music Magpie to pay particularly good rates, so use Ziffit more often. Some CD's will definitely go for significantly more - limited editions, out of print, some 90's dance/compilations certainly used to do well... personally I don't get rid of CD's often, they're still very popular in my house.0 -
Ziffit offer better prices but it’s so glitchy I can never actually make up a whole basket - stops accepting after the 4th item. I use music magpie, usually scan a few cookbooks and text books which bumps up the basket value above their minimum transaction limit.

Sadly, people really don't want CDs any more. In fact, in my experience, they don't want vinyl music either, I did so much research when I was trying to get sell mine and was very offended when nobody wanted my well-looked after vinyl LPs. I ended up giving most of them away - people on Freegle took them and I managed to sell a few via Facebook. It really wasn't an easy task and I became fed up of trying to get the 'best offer'. There isn't one.
I couldn't even give my CDs away. Charities don't want them, nobody does. People on freegle will sometimes take them but they seem to prefer vinyl.
It may be that MM, while offering such a small sum, really is your best option. Please note - taken from the Forum Rules and amended for my own personal use (with thanks) : It is up to you to investigate, check, double-check and check yet again before you make any decisions or take any action based on any information you glean from any of my posts.
