Valuations - desktop or actual?

Options
Are valuations still being done on desktop or are they coming round now?

Or does it depend on LTV? Mine is 50%.

Physical inspection, drive-by or desktop depends on lender, type of application, LTV and when the property last changed hands.

Mine was 53% LTV and mortgage company (Nationwide) still did a physical inspection, didn't have to pay for a surveyor though. I'm guessing they chose to do a physical to ensure I can get the rate that was being offered which required to be 60% LTV.
