@tab99uk Skipton has a process to apply for an extension for purchase offers (even if it's non new-build). You can see the form here https://www.skipton-intermediaries.co.uk/-/media/Intermediaries/PDFs/Guides/Offer-extension-request-form.ashx

It will be subject to underwriter review and criteria at the time. I've never requested one for a Skipton non-new-build client myself, but as per what Skipton say, they will considering extending it up to another 6 months and you can keep the same original product that was applied for.

thanks thats great news 6 months do you know how long a probate takes the property im buying a couple lived their and the land is unregistered the property is on joint names the husband passed away 12 years ago but they never transferred the property on her name.

during searches the land came back unregistered land and now its a probate matter to how long does it take for a probate get solved and land registered.

searches were done in February phones ea the told me they have the title deeds with the bank and probate should take a few weeks.

been 2 months now and no update does this take a long time to register the land??

@tab99uk Registering previously unregistered land will likely take a long time is all I can usefully say unfortunately.

I wouldn't pay much attention to what the EA says as all they care about is you not walking away or looking for another property. Ask your solicitor about approximate timelines.

does probate take long to the house it is in joint name but husband died they have not transferred property fully on her name.
  • Good Morning - If you wish to extend your mortgage offer you will have to get in touch directly with your mortgage advisor. We can look to extend your mortgage offer for a further 6 months. In regards to grant of probate, each application is different based on the specific circumstances so it's difficult to confirm exactly when this should be completed by. . If you have any further questions at all, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks - Skipton
