Nearly everyone could do with more sleep I go to bed an hour earlier and save around 30 hours of electric and gas a month!

If I go to bed earlier I save very little because my heating is on low by then anyway, I make a cuppa to take to bed with me and I read in bed so the light is still on.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

Too much sleep can be as bad as too little sleep.

I usually go between 9-10 depending if theres anything worth watching on tv or not, but I read until 11.30-12 anyway and I'm always up by 6.30 in the morning.I somethimes just lie and listen to LBC radio on my Alexa if I don't feel like reading.

I agree this is a really good idea, especially now we have light mornings. Go to bed earlier and get up earlier, even only half an hour. In winter we have the heating come on at 7.30am, so don't want to get up earlier and be cold, switch lights on etc. With warmer and brighter mornings it is very pleasant to get up earlier, potter around and enjoy the quiet.

In winter I lie in bed till at 9 am to save on heating, sometimes later if I have nowhere to go. I try to time my getting up so I can get up and out the house without putting the heating on,  often eating breakfast with my coat on.

I only need about 4-5 hours sleep of a nighttime. Any more than that and I end up with headaches and feel irritable. So if I went to bed at 9 I would have to read or watch TV for a couple of hours before feeling sleepy. And then by 5 I'll be up like a lark.

And now that we are having lighter mornings/evenings I find it even more difficult to go to bed when its still light outside.

Just one of those things I guess.
